I am a visual artist, I paint, I draw. I was born an artist, genetically predisposed you might say. I was drawing and painting from a very young age (old enough to hold a pencil) I have avoided the fine art side of education, as I wished to remain independent from any school of thought. I am self taught, as far as painting and drawing are concerned. I do not use photographs as reference, all the work shown is entirely from my imagination. Although I am now in my early 50's, I may still have time to produce what I aim to produce before I depart this mortal toil. An artist is born of thier time. If I had been born in another time then I would have produced very different work, and maybe even become part of an ideological painting style. I have always said that if an artist (painter) lives long enough, eventually they will find the holy grail, and reinvent the wheel, some have achieved it, and left small left over bones for the rest of us to scavenge for. Painting , although remaining in and out of fashion, is still alive, and well. When our ancestors painted on cave walls they started something that would remain for ever more. Humans make marks it is part of being human after all.
